January, our focus is growth beginning with our relationship with God with our Lord - God is LOVE! And we are required to LOVE all people.
How can we love our neighbors if we are judgemental, unkind, ugly towards them? How do we have a loving and deep relationship with God when we cant show love towards all people. God is Love!
Lead by example; how do you walk before others?
Ambivalence - is the coexistence of opposing attitudes or feelings, such as love and hate, toward a person, object, or idea.
How does ambivalence affect the believer? Some people are ambivalent towards the Church based on their experiences; however, they are sure of their beliefs. Does having ambivalence towards the Church interfere with your relationship with God? Does having ambivalence towards your Sister,who may see things differently, interfere with your walk? Your Sister may be struggling with the knowledge she has gained about the Church, about the Church's history? The seemly contradicting things we have read, heard preached, or experienced may cause a period of ambivalence along our journey, and that is ok; we are growing in wisdom.

At times I have felt like my ambivalence toward the Church was me being too scared to leave. As we grow in knowledge, some things we learn may be confusing or contradictory, which is ok. God's arms are big enough for all of our questions. To be continued.......
